Andermatt’s pride and joy is its five private hot spring baths.
Each bath can be reserved for private use, making it easy for couples, families or small groups to relax without worrying about other guests.
The water is an alkaline simple hot spring with a pH level of 9.7, which is rare even in Japan. From the moment it touches your skin, you can feel its silky, smooth texture. The gentle alkaline water helps remove old keratin from the skin, leaving you feeling soft and refreshed after bathing.
It is also said to help relieve neuralgia, muscle soreness and joint stiffness, while being gentle on the body for those sensitive to the cold or recovering after illness.
18th and 19th Century Antiques and a Larch Wood Stove
Step inside, and you may forget you are still in Japan.
The main lobby is decorated with a collection of antique furnishings personally sourced overseas by the owner, including pieces from 18th-century Switzerland. Together with the warmth of the larch wood stove, the space creates a calm, old-world atmosphere that feels far removed from everyday life.
Dinner features Swiss-style Fondue Chinoise, served all-you-can-eat, as well as steak grilled on a ceramic plate. Course dinners are also available on request.
The all-you-can-eat Fondue Chinoise is Andermatt’s most popular dinner option, offering a warm and enjoyable dining experience after a day in the mountains.
Breakfast is served as a generous buffet in the tradition of a hot spring mountain hotel, giving you plenty of energy for the day’s activities ahead.
Alpine Suite
Limited to just two rooms within the hotel, the Alpine Suite offers a spacious layout with a private viewing terrace and salon area.
The room has a warm, woody atmosphere, scented with Nordic pine, and is equipped with a bathroom and toilet with a washlet, as well as LAN access.
The large terrace doors feature triple-glazed glass and special fittings imported directly from Europe. They help keep the room warm while allowing natural sunlight and fresh mountain air to flow in.

Location and Access
Andermatt is located in the quiet forest area of Himekidaira.
It is around 15 minutes by car from Blanche Takayama, and about 10 minutes by car from Ikenotaira Hotel, the central hub of 8 Peaks Resort.
The shuttle buses connecting Chino Station and Sakudaira Station with 8 Peaks Resort arrive at and depart from Ikenotaira Hotel. Transfers between Ikenotaira Hotel and Andermatt can be arranged by Andermatt’s staff.
Guests can also consult the hotel regarding transfers to each ski area.
For the inter-resort Round Bus included with the All Mountain Pass, as well as transfers to Blanche Takayama, Royal Hill and Pilatus, Andermatt’s staff will first take you from the hotel to Ikenotaira Hotel. From there, you can use the 8 Peaks Resort transfer service.
